Why methodology matters for mining rankings

The mining industry is filled with promotional content, paid endorsements, and investor relations material that makes objective comparison difficult. We built Mining Industry Reviews to provide genuinely independent, data-driven rankings that investors, analysts, and industry professionals can trust.

Our scoring framework

Every company we rank receives a composite score on a 10-point scale. The weighted criteria vary by category:

Data sources

We aggregate data from annual reports and NI 43-101 technical reports, production and reserve disclosures, industry publications including Mining Journal and Northern Miner, regulatory filings with securities commissions, analyst reports, and publicly available operational and financial data.

How sponsored placements work

Our core principle: Organic ranking positions are determined solely by our scoring methodology and are never available for purchase. Featured Partner placements are a separate, clearly labeled position that does not influence organic rankings.

We offer paid listing tiers from basic claimed profiles ($99/mo) to Featured Partner placements ($699/mo). Every paid placement is visually distinct and clearly labeled. Organic rankings are never for sale.

Mining industry considerations

Unlike general software reviews, mining company rankings require specialized evaluation criteria. We assess resource classification standards (Measured, Indicated, Inferred), jurisdictional risk profiles, permitting status and timeline, environmental compliance and reclamation obligations, community relations and social license, and management team track records in bringing projects to production.
